The first book I read before I was formulating the concept for my current project idea.
I just really love the cyberpunk genre and had heard that this is a great place to
start novelwise. Really, this kinda feels like post-cyberpunk and as it novel it
definitely had its faults (like an extreme downturn in holding my interest in the middle,
but overall I really enjoyed reading this novel. It gave me a lot to think about in terms
of digital worlds and posthumanism, BUT I really wish I had taken better notes whilist
actually reading since the project wasn't quite in gestation. I'll probably skim back through
at some point while writing so I can remember my initial thoughts and observations, or maybe
what stands out in retrospect after doing more research. I'd also like to hear Stephenson's
and other people's thoughts on the book, especially from a philosophical perspective.
